There’s no glory to be found in war,

War creates no heroes, just killers,

Indoctrination is trained in to soldiers

Who responds to all orders given,

Without conscience or thought

They kill without mercy or compassion,

Taught it’s kill or be killed

Both sides were indoctrinated in this way,

Fight each other due to the same brainwashing

Neither side is willing to back down,

Hence 60,000 indoctrinated souls died on the Somme

On a piece of ground no bigger than a football pitch,

And they died without question

Killed without thinking,

Just following the orders of madmen

With a psychopathic lust for death,

And a belief in winning at all cost

Though without being participants,

In the deadly battles that they create.
