A glimpse of the future (it’s not pretty)

Global military might

Is being replaced

By global economic strength,

That is the new fight,

The people who’ll suffer

Are the same as always,

Us normal people

We’ll all be used as the slaves,

And what we cannot do

AI and robots will fill,

There will be no space

For the vulnerable or ill,

And the wealthy will live

In their ivory towers

Enjoying the benefits of power,

The rest of society will be

Left in the dystopian rot,

As our ecological environment

Consists mainly of GM crops,

Other species will go extinct

As habitat invasion grows,

The rainforests will be

One of the main things to go,

And people will need to buy

Oxygen just too exist and too live,

But it will be a commodity

And we’ll all have to pay for it,

And if it’s something that

You just cannot afford,

Then my friends your days will end

Like cutting an umbilical cord,

And fear mongering and doom visions

Are what you’ll say this is,

But I am telling you now

That this is much more realistic,

Than the fantasy that you create

In your wildest dreams,

Of living in the future wealth and luxury.
