Recriminations never end well
It makes your bitterness swell,
Again and again it will haunt you
And can sway you away from the truth,
Hitting back reduces who you are
Into somebody else that is far,
From the authentic person that at the start
You once were but it changed you,
Now the view of you becomes skewed
And no longer represents the truth.
