Are there bats in my belfry
Or am I just getting old
I kind of find things harder to resolve,
Like people accept war is inevitable
And that peace is a dream like fantasy,
That we will never know
And that the richer getting richer
While the poor are left to decay,
Is somehow acceptable in this age
And the being full of hate and rage,
Is more normal than putting love and peace on display.

….I will always reject this and call it out when I come across it. People who display this in my presence, I feel commit a crime to steel my wonderful day.

I actually believed in 1999 that the new century would be a peaceful one after the terrible events of the twentieth century which no one would want to see again. It didn’t take long for me to be disillusioned.
