Changing lanes

Life makes me scream

When it shatters my dreams,

Leaves me feeling wretched

And while you aren’t what you seem,

I thought in people I could trust

But when you do it’s obvious,

That people are in it for themselves

They’ll lie and they’ll twist the facts

Hoping to see how I will react,

I’ve learnt not now to show them this

Instead I go it alone and decide to risks,

Making my own life in this world

Based on my own thoughts of conscious reality,

And not their poisonous treachery

Which I have come to understand and see,

All decisions I now make, they are rooted in me

Because I’ve learnt to become my own authority.
