A shift is on its way they say
To help the mess and decay,
Of our failing societies today
Where everything seems so grey,
And lives just fade away
In the brutality enacted globally,
By people who don’t like equality
And so deny us all our liberty,
But when I look and see the truth
And study today’s youth,
So distracted by things that do not matter
While corporations and the wealthy get fatter,
And yet this generation doesn’t see it
Enough to create the change needed,
Too busy doing social media posts
Too focused on their own egos,
Too wrapped up in themselves
While our world simply goes to hell.
