An unapologetic message on Christmas day

Excuse the intrusion

But I am lost in confusion

There genocide for all to see

And wars are raging globally,

And the environment suffers

As do so many other species,

We’re on the road to rack and ruin

But you still won’t believe me,

And at this festive time of year

Take a good look at friends and family,

And ask yourself how much they’re worth

And if they will survive scrabbling in the dirt,

When there is absolutely nothing left,

And of words and thoughts I am bereft

You can see it happening every day,

On your television screens where it’s displayed

Without any words of sorrow or any empathy,

My god people are dying, children are crying

And yet on this day of celebration there seems,

As if nobody really wants to fight for change.

  2. One person’s change isn’t another’s, that’s the problem. There’s no collective idea or not enough to join to impact it.
