We can only control what’s within

I wish that all life was evergreen

With shimmering lights of filigree,

Where dappled dreams flowed

Where the soft breeze blows,

Where suffering, nobody ever knows

Just peaceful tranquility,

And love and harmony

Resonates in each moment easily,

I wish this for all as a utopian dream

I wish this were everyone’s conscious reality,

And it can be achieved by us

As spiritual entities individually,

We just have to discover it internally,

Discover and explore within, rather than outside

There is a point where two worlds collide,

In the external there is chaos war and no hope

Inside is a stillness that helps us to cope,

You can’t change the external

But you can control the within,

While just sitting and breathing and meditating.

  1. I remember feeling exactly so in Spring 1977. I don’t know when the dew went off the rose- but go it did.
