Self oppressed

We are are own oppressors

Participating in elections,

To see which side and who will cage us

There are no sides there’s just one system,

Setting us against each other

Using money and material stuff to smother,

Any thoughts or desire for rebellion

To inv Stef in mortgages, cars and pensions,

And awaiting for that needed acclaim

That you surely did live life the right way,

A good little citizen obeying everything

Not knowing it was your life you were wasting,

On minor pursuits you thought ould stand out

But you were just another sheep without a doubt,

You ploughed all your energy in the way

You were told by the system to play,

Never questioning and judging others

Forgetting humanity makes us sisters and brothers,

You know there are probably as many haters than lovers,

What does that say about the world in which we live

Where we seek to take more than we give,

This is something none of should forgive

About how we live life obeying the shit,

That we were at birth conditioned with

And we couldn’t break out as we were happy with it,

We’re all complicit in our own slavery

And rotting in comfy cages of conformity.
