Whispers, whispers, everywhere
Whispers floating around on air,
Multitudinous whispering voices,
Whispering so many different choices,
Some are kind, some child like,
Some malevolent, some speak in rhyme,
Some are whispers of the past,
Some are Whispers from the dark,
Some of these Whispers are divine,
Whispering in this moment in time,
Whispers, Whispers fill my ears,
Then there is a scream!
Punctuated by fear,
Whispers are increasing now in strength,
Whispers getting louder
And longer in length,
Whispers now cry and whispers now moan,
I wish these Whispers would leave me alone
But in the background the steadying sound,
Of sanity trying to prevail so profound,
Heavenly voices just like a chorus,
Telling all to resist before us
The Whispers that try to lure us into insanity,
That leave us barely able to breathe,
Screams! Rip out now more
Time and again,
Like being in an asylum for the insane
And every moment the whispers increase,
Reverberating around my brain,
It’s not a battle, it’s a war,
Between bad and good,
Like a dark presence living in the woods,
Primordial, primeval
Being held at bay,
By the light of love
And by the angels who play,
Above our being
Offering strength
All we need to know is when and how it will end.
Whispers, Whispers in the dark,
Some are close,
Some are far,
Whispers pleading with us to come out and play,
Don’t listen to the whispers because they’ll feast on your brain.
