She glistened on the tree,
she was the shiniest
and most beautiful cherry
and caught the eye as he walked by
and so transfixed was he,
by this most beautiful of things,
he felt the need to pluck her
and swallow her whole,
to enjoy her taste and her flavor,
it was the best he had savored
but now gone, now consumed
her beauty and promise was now no more.
