The angst the need

The hunger the greed 

It’s drives on our humanity 

To cut down trees and pollute the seas

And kill the bees

And use pesticides to poison the air that we breathe

And to destroy everything

Including all the food we eat

And when I stand and wonder why

Here with tears in my eyes

I am stunned by all the arrogance

And awful mindless ignorance 

Of a lack of caring for all that exists

Like we can do anything 

and believe that we can always fix it

But the truth is that this is a totally myth

And in the end we be extinct 

Due to our belief that we were all that mattered

And will leave behind a world in tatters 

That one day long after we have gone

It will heal itself and come back strong

Without us.
