The dogs of war

The dogs of war

Ravaging, raping and pillaging

Sweeping through neighbourhoods

With murderous intent

The dogs of war have blood dripping from their hands

Teeth bared slavering hungry for more

The dogs of war

Are ready to rent burn and slaughter

The bodies of innocent who get in their wars

They don’t do it for money

They do it for the hunger

The need to bring about death and decay

The dogs of war

They know no mercy

There’s no compassion in their hearts

And they have no souls

The dogs of war

Only worship one thing

And that’s the theater of blood and gore

Getting off on the power

And feeling the strength

Of being such mercenary men

The dogs of war

They live for death

The dogs of war are humanity bereft.

  1. You went really dark here. I don’t know why, but I kinda like it. 😀 Well done. 😀 You managed to describe the reaving and still keep a poetic sound along with it.
