I remember when young
Life being so much fun
Not a lot of money
But lots of family love
My mum and dad worked hard
To ensure our life was good
Even though money was sparse
They went so far to prove
Than money can’t buy happiness
That’s down to you and me
To entertain ourselves
And discover brand new things.
No phones or consoles
Barely much on TV
We spent our time in parks and streets
Riding bikes and playing footy.
So don’t think than fun need be supplied
It’s yours to be discovered
Out in the big wide world
Don’t be electronically smothered.
