Loquacious

I can be loquacious from time to time

Letting thoughts spill from my mind

Talking just a little too much

Filling silent voids, yet thinking, shut up!

It’s a flaw sometimes, maybe it’s nerves

Or maybe unease in those moments

When nothings being said at all

So I become loquacious with talk that is small,

I talk about sport or anything at all

But not about things that can upset at all

Like politics or religion

These are emotive subjects, that’s a given

People can hold strong views

So I avoid them because we all have different truths

I save that for here, where I can set out and make myself clear

More so than when I am babbling or rambling on

Trouble with loquaciousness is you just drone on and on.
