I do my best
But you don’t see it,
I work yet you
Simply mock it,
I clean the house
You blind to it,
I pay the rent
But no one cares,
I do my best
In every day,
Made to feel lazy
If I ever stop,
I take time always
With our son
But no matter
What I do
It’s not enough
And all I ask for
Is to be shown or told
You love me
But that’s too much to ask.
That feeling of not being appreciated hurts. It’s definitely not a lot to ask for to just hear an “I love you” or “I appreciate you” from time to time. I can relate to this poem, Faux.
