Losing friends

The greatest thing about reaching out

Is making friends and sharing stuff,

The hardest thing I find to take,

Is losing these friends along the way,

Something got in the way and the the connection breaks

Something gets in the way and those friends fade or walk away

And it’s hard when you don’t know and you know no reason why

And you feel like maybe all this while you’ve been wasting time,

Something got in the way and they faded or walked away

And you know no reason why but they’re no longer here to find

Something got in the way and so the connection breaks

And a little of the love and light

That you created has gone and taken flight

Something got in the way and you lost a good friend

And that can be so hard to take.

It’s always hard realizing that a good friendship has been lost and it hurts, especially when you can’t pinpoint when the distancing happened or why it happened. You just sort of drift away onto different paths, I guess. This is really a heartfelt poem, Faux. I can totally identify with this feeling.
