I did my bit today

Cleared all mess away

Scattered along the beach

I emptied every bin

And left this place a lot better

Then it was at the beginning.

Yes it may be my job

To oversee those doing this work

But today it was on me

Because its the season of holidays

So I got out working at six

And that time in the morning

It was so amazing, another beautiful day.

Though the work is hard

The people you meet are great

And I enjoyed watching families

Playing among the waves

I could hear the fun, the laughter and the scream

It makes it worthwhile doing environmental cleans

Menial to some but that’s a fallacy

Imagine just how dirty everything would be if they weren’t there cleaning up after you.
