Drudgery

So dark in the mornings

When going off to work

So dark in the evenings

When I come home

And I ache and hurt

The life of a working person

Is one often of drudgery

And mundanity

No end to this repetition

Except until that day

We retire or we die

This is our tough life

Trying to find some joy in between

Working and sleeping

And getting up

And doing it all again

It’s so dark in the mornings

When I leave for work

So dark in the evenings

When I get home

Eeling the ache and hurt.

      1. Well, I thought it was real, but perhaps, it was a dream. Or maybe, that’s how it started. Perhaps none of it is real. No matter how much it seems otherwise.

      4. And I forgot to say, thank you so much for your implied compliment, but in my humble opinion, it’s you with the talent. You’re prolific, you seem to write simply, and from the heart… in short, it’s captivating.
