Love touched me in a way I’ve never felt before
It opens up emotional doors,
It allows euphoria and joy to course through me
It leaves breathing so heavily and passionately,
But on occasions it’s left me feeling pain and sadness
As if it’s ripping my whole being wide apart,
It’s left me stricken, broken hearted, hurt and wounded
It’s left my wondering if love truly does exist?
But then I find a new love and all the goodness flows
Back into every aspect of my being and my marrow,
And every day seems like summer once again
Those long, dark harsh winters have come to an end,
And it’s at this point I know what duality is all about
Feeling both sides of love so you are in no doubt,
That to be grateful of the elation
You must feel the devastation,
It makes you stronger more resilient
And you learn to love in a way that’s more intense,
But some don’t find this and put up a real defence
And let their hearts go cold, never to love again,
Some strive and some falter in true loves name
But without love you will never feel the same.
