Growing beyond reason

The sprawl of humanity

And it’s globalisation,

The ever expanding

Boarders of nations,

Eating into land

That was other species habitats,

Mankind is like a plague

Maybe it’s time to plan a roll back,

Using population control

To reduce down the numbers,

Not from war or eugenics

By by simple birth control,

We cannot keep breeding

Without considering the consequences,

We can’t keep growing

At other species expenses,

We can’t keep exploiting

And using all the resources of nature,

And expect to thrive and survive

Other species on this earth also have a right,

To share this planet on which we live

We need to stop taking

And start to give

Much more back.

    This is quite an intriguing piece. I have had so many conversations around this with my friends. Many of whom have children and are trying to have more. There have been times when I mentioned adoption and have them flatly state that they want their ‘own’ child sharing their ‘own’ blood. This mentality is sickening and yet, so common. I guess, this is also why people still want to reproduce while there are so many innocent kids waiting for a home.
