We’ve all experienced so much hardship this year
And who knows what the future will bring,
We have suffered so much and so many fell along the way
And we will at the end of this remember them,
And mourn the year that for many has been the worst
But we, those still able to continue,
Must remember to live for those who can’t
To do justice to life in recognition for all the hardships,
And not let it define us but make us stronger
While also creating within us greater understanding,
To foster greater caring and tolerance
To help us see the futility in hate and discrimination,
In a world and life of such impermanence,
We must learn to share more love
And discover a greater inner peace,
And be more grateful of what we have
We will get through this struggle,
Yet it is up to us all how we come out the other side of it
My hope and dream is we can take the opportunity,
To change and realise the importance,
Of the spiritual aspect of living rather than just the material.
So wonderfully said. I am about two months late in reading this, but even more relevant now. But that makes sense because the sentiment (which may not be the correct word) expressed is timeless. Thanks!
