Dirty public, discarded masks

Everywhere I go it breaks my heart

Everywhere I see discarded potentially,

Covid contaminated masks

Then someone complains and says it the council’s fault,

Rather than hold the general public to book

I mean the low paid workers do their best,

But they’re up against a real test

Dirty individuals and their disgraceful disrespect,

For keeping Britain tidy which should be everybody’s quest,

I can’t conceive who would act like this

Along forest roads and highways,

Along suburbs and high streets,

We see discarded masks laying everywhere

From a dirty public that just doesn’t care,

Fly tipping and polluting we’re going backwards

No respect for our environment,

So it’s not the work of others to pick up these masks,

If you think it is you’re ignorant and having a laugh.

  1. It’s such a shame. I couldn’t help but notice that the litter in the parks where I live are now composed of gloves and masks instead of coffee cups and fast food waste. The underlying problem still remains but if we can change ourselves there is hope. 💛🙏🏾

    1. Yes, that’s true enough, we just need to be more aware of our surroundings, take note of what we do but mostly we are mindless in our casual disregard for cleanliness, to distracted by other things 🙏 Faux
