Frozen life

They find amongst the frozen ice

Of the melting arctic wastes a man,

Neanderthal and powerful

They study him to understand,

Then realise he is suspended in the ice

With a possibility of being revived,

They take him to climax their lab

And bring him back to life,

But all he does is let out a forlorn cry

‘The whole world is about to die,’

This is what is prophesised

‘And this prophecy does not lie,’>

There will be disease now and fire from the skies’

His eyes were wide and crazily wild,

Then his eyes go red and so do theirs

A parasite had been released and on humans it fed,

But then a sudden solar flare of red hot heat

Burnt out all the electricity and rendered mankind dead,

Until in the end only ash was left,

But through the universe you could still hear the Neanderthals scream

A reminder of earth’s nightmarish scene.
