Inequality even in death

In death there’s still no equality

Look at Syria and Turkey,

An earthquake hit and both suffered

Under buildings people were smothered,

Under concrete homes in which they lived

Now ask who received the aid we give,

Turkey being helped by all that can

Syria has much fewer hands,

Syria receives no aid or help at all

What happened to the emergency call?

Are lives and in Syria worth far more less

Children rescued from the rubble but without a breath,

Tears being cried while help is denied

But the international community defies,

Both countries are on their knees

Both countries cry and plead,

This is the worst of all tragedies

But we should be helping both countries equally,

But no one is being saved in Syria like Turkey

Because there is not enough aid and that’s the key,

And so the suffering is beyond belief

But I send my prayers while on my knees,

Though I wish in this case there was greater equality

The tears I shed and that I weep,

Are for the innocent who have lost whole families

We should all be ashamed we left and ignored Syria’s needs.

  1. I don’t think it is even fair to make a judgement between Turkey and Siria. In Siria there is a war going on and it is extremely risky for westerners to go in and help. Don’t think they do not want to do it, but circumstances make it extremely difficult, or impossible. It is not due to unfair practices. Time to stop creating propaganda and start focusing on the truth of the matter.

  2. You are so right. It upset me that on the news there was so many stories about the Chinese balloon and so few about the earthquake! So glad a Pakistani man donated 30 million for the relief efforts!

  3. if you go there in Syria, you go at your own risk because the area where was the earthquake is controlled by rebels and there are no laws there.
    So …….
