As I sit here considering risk
as part of my job I go through a list
how to keep myself and others safe
in this moment and for each day
calculating dangers and the worse fears
taking into account nobody sees or hears
the clear and present danger in front of them
which is why I have to write risk assessments.
Now when I write it down it seems clear to me
that common sense is the easiest thing
and making people take accountability
would make this job one of ease.
But no it would seem that’s not in the equation
act as if people are stupid in relation
to their own health and safety and well being
take away that responsibility because it is plaguing
the minds of those who want to be free
to just keep there eyes on the mobile phone screen
distracted by You Tube, Facebook and SnapChat
and don’t ever expect people to ever react
to dangers around them, that exist in their lives
that may cause them harm at any time
control the danger and minimize risk
this is my job and it don’t get funnier than this
that your paid so that people don’t have to think
can go about life like there is nothing
that can cause them an injury or cause them to die
and if someone does then they ask me why
did you fail in your duties to allow others to persist
in reckless abandon is there something I missed?
Would it harm just to say when you go about your day
be aware of the dangers and risks that you face
and if you don’t and it ends in a bad way for your health
then my friend it’s you fault and no one else
for life is for living and being aware
of all that’s around you and showing some care
if not for yourself then how about others
young children, old people, fathers and mothers
take care of yourself don’t just leave it to me
because I really do want to see you live in safety.
Amazing piece, i just love the way it flows. i like it a lot
