A standard of mindfulness to reach
Where we consider every spoken word
And everything you have ever heard.
To pause before we say words to speak
To give ourselves a chance to think
And wonder of the impact of what we say
May have on those who listen to what we say.
Do they hear anger in our words
or jealousy or words of hurt
Do they misunderstand that which we choose to say
For we did not make ourself clear in some kind of way.
Impeccable speech is first thought about
And never will you hear it shout
For impeccable is clear and precise
Cuts through the wrongness and brings about right.
For carefully considered words are structured and fine
Because they are spoken in grand design.
So be impeccably spoken with each of your words
Be mindful and thoughtful and avoid undue hurt.
