I maybe all this and more,
But these labels don’t define me.
I stand up against oppression and speak out against all wars
But I am loving and compassionate
With kindness in my soul.
So how you going to judge me when I am someone you don’t know.
I would say that the fact that other people’s labels bother me is an indication that I feel wounded and so, it is not their problem, it is my problem and I have to work on it, asking myself, “Why did it bother me so much?” You know, if I know that I am beautiful then no matter how many people will surround me saying that I am ugly, or I look like a witch, or that my smile is so scary that it will make people run away, do you think it will affect me? Do you think I will believe them or do you think I will laugh at their faces and walk away?
I think that was my point. The labels are based around how others see us and do not define us. If anything it defines them more as being judgmental and that they mean nothing to me as they do not know me. Based on them not knowing me these judgement are nothing to do with me as they are not based on facts about me but perceptions that they have which as I have said is more reflective o them.
