World’s within world’s
In which we live.
I walk down the street where I live
Clean quiet lined with bushes and trees of green
Sun is shining kids at play
In the parks they enjoy life this day.
Cars wind their way in precession
A noisy metal box obsession.
All is good in this my world
But if not the same in others I hear.
A world away people lived in bombed out shells
Their world resembles carnage and he’ll
The sound of explosions shakes the ground
And awful vibrational terrifying sound
The wails of people as they scream the sound of many running feet
Sirens piercing aloud
All of this world shrouded in dust clouds.
This is each day that they live
These people who live in a world like this.
Then there is another world
A place of loneliness I have heard
Where people live in boxes on the street
Feel no worth no shoes on their feet.
Cardboard city is their home
Spending days on the roam
Hoping to beg for a couple of quid
There are people living in world’s like this.
Then in another world so dark, people live in dread fearing harm.
These people are kids and they live with abuse sexualised, beaten too
Fear the door being closed when the abuser is coming near.
The look in the eyes of desire and lust
On fear of just saying to much
Lust or anger they are victims of
Abusers who do not know the cost
Of what they do unto their prey
Ruin their lives fills it with pain
While the abuser say ‘this is our secret ok,
Children suffer in a world like this
But in other world’s people run other risks.
A black man walking through his hood
Risking life from cops and crooks
Drug dealers working through his world using young boys and girls
Cops patrol with trigger happy fingers
This hood not a place to be lingering
You could be shot dead by a car of gang bangers
Or shot by Cops who decided you were dangerous.
These are some of the other world’s that exist
Places where people have no choice but to live.
So as I walk my street in peace
and think of all my worries
I think again
And realize how lucky I am
and my heart goes out filled with compassion and love
And wish for those in other world’s
