I gave them new eden

She wanders the world in rags not riches
Observing just what we have done to this earth
She roams the green meadows and through inner city slums
And wonders to herself just what we have done
The high rise flats with their urine stenched lifts
The graffiti’d hallways she thought we were better than this
Then back to the green and lush verdant prismic fields
This is better is the sense that she feels
Then notices suddenly a sign comes into view
There selling the woodland
And a bypass will come through
She wonders some more passing dead woodland creatures
Spread across roads one of humanities saddest road features
She sees the fly tipped waste
and the shopping trolley in the ponds
and starts asking the question
What exactly is going on.
I gave them a paradise in which to live
And they are now flushing away down one great big sieve.
Her despair is well warranted and that’s just where I live
As she tours the globe she will see it gets worse than this
Bombed out cities with dead kids in the streets
Vast concrete jungles where very little is green
Factories with chimneys polluting our earth
Monsanto chipping in poison for all it’s worth
Animals extinction always on the rise
Hunting for cash and pleasure will leave tears in her eyes.
She will see though there are those us trying to fight back
But we are in a minority and that is a fact
But we will fight with each sinew and fibre of our bodies to turn this around It’s a lifestyle not a hobby
But as this beautiful woman with an ancient soul
wonders in rags all across the globe
We will hail her and promise to give her our best to try and save nature
At her behest
For this women with eyes of deep green
Lips flow blue like a deep oceanic dream
Skin of the whitest apple blossom and cream
She is Mother Nature and she’s assessing the scene
Of a crime against the environment and all other species
This crime against nature that is so obscene.
She then sits on a rock with her head in her hands and said I gave them a new Eden and new promised lands
Filled with all the wonders, paradise so enriched
And they done their very best to destroy all of it.
