I made a pact one day to give nothing away

To stay true to my thoughts

Stand strong my beliefs

I made a pact one day to be impeccable every day

With my words and with my actions

And every single day

I try to be.

I made a pact one day to show compassion to all

To stand by others who may fall

And I try hard to heed the call

I made a pact one day to help those who could not themselves

All those left up on the shelf

And those who missed out on wealth

And every single day I try to help

This is my deed.

I made a pact one day to fight oppression and wrong

And I make the attempt each day to fight for peoples rights in every way

I don’t let colour or beliefs get in my way

I just see people in individual ways

And I try in my own way

To be the change.

Now when I made this pact one day I knew I was flawed not perfect in anyway

And carrying out these acts each day still don’t complete me

But it’s the best thing I can do believe me

It’s something I try and do

Live life in a way that’s true

Because I know that in the end i know it’s right.

And though we may not succeed at least we tried

To be the best that we can be

And that’s just being

That’s the reason we are alive.
