Am I an alien?

We scour the skies for alien life
We hope to see a sign
But what if we are that alien life
Descended from down from up high
What if our ancient ancestors left their DNA here
To populate this earth to build a safe haven free from fear.

If they did I am sure they would be disappointed by what we have achieved
Polluted every ocean and are rapidly cutting down trees
Raping the resources of an earth that offers much
Trouble is a disease called human that does not give a fuck.

I am sure that they have been visiting
Hoping to see us evolve
But went back shaking their heads thinking how can they ever resolve
This need to destroy to kill and fight and pollute everything that we see
Destroying our environment land earth and sea.
It’s got to the point where their visits now are few and far between
They given up on transcendence now
Given up on humanity
And it’s very hard to blame them when you take a look at us
We just run around causing chaos
And fucking everything up.
